Beetle Atlas is a Tribolium castaneum transcriptomics resource based on RNA-seq data. You can use it for queries such as:
“In what tissues or at what life stages is a particular gene (or class of gene) expressed?”
and
“Which genes are most abundant in particular tissues or life stages?”
You can choose between two ‘modes’ of accessing this information: one uses the OGS3 set of gene annotations (IDs prefixed by ‘TC’), the other uses the NCBI annotations from the icTriCast1.1 assembly (numeric IDs):
Both modes allow input of gene IDs from Drosophila melanogaster, and you can switch between modes to compare results. An integrated custom view has been created in the UCSC Genome Browser to help reconcile any discrepancies. This can also be used as a general facility for assessing gene predictions.
